Who is the Denver Pro Chorale?
Founded in 2012, the Denver Pro Chorale is comprised of thirty-six musicians based in the Denver Metropolitan area. The Denver Pro Chorale specializes in singing diverse a cappella choral repertoire including contemporary works from around the world.
Now in it’s fourth season, The Denver Pro Chorale is now an artist group in residence at Denver’s Church of the Ascension. In previous seasons the chorale collaborated with both St. Martin’s Chamber Choir, and the choirs of Metropolitan State University, in addition to being invited to perform at the Colorado Music Educator’s Association convention in Colorado Springs.
The programs offered by the Denver Pro Chorale are made possible in part through its partnership with Fractured Atlas.
Taylor Martin, Artistic Director
In 2015, Taylor was appointed Staff Conductor of the Colorado Symphony Chorus, serving as Chorus Director of Video Games Live at Red Rocks Amphitheater, and for Danny Elfman’s Music From the Films of Tim Burton, at Boettcher Concert Hall.
An impassioned educator in Denver, Taylor has taught with the non-profit organization, El Sistema Colorado, since its infancy, developing key elements of the choral curriculum. The program brings free music education to under-served students in the Globeville and Swansea neighborhoods in Denver, and has become an important part of the cultural fabric of Colorado.
In 2013, Taylor’s passion for choral arts and community outreach led him to found the Resound Singers with the Saint Martin’s Chamber Choir. The project works with the New Life Program to provide a choir for men of the Denver Rescue Mission’s rehabilitation program.
As an active professional singer, Taylor sings regularly with the Colorado Bach Ensemble and Saint Martin’s Chamber Choir, with whom he joined the Santa Fe Desert Chorale for a performance of Mozart’s Requiem in the summer of 2014. Taylor is a featured tenor soloist on the Saint Martin’s Chamber Choir recording of Henri Hardouin’s masses, to be released by Toccata Classics in 2016.
Taylor works with the Youth and Children’s choirs of Montview Boulevard Presbyterian Church, and is a sought-after clinician and guest conductor throughout the Greater Denver Area.
